CAKES CAN CONQUER Our RED 7 SALON team will be “representing” in our upcoming Bake Sale (May 28/29) to benefit Share Our Strength (http://strength.org/), a national organization to end childhood hunger in America by 2015. In 2009, SOS funded more than 300 organizations across the country. Please help us raise as much money as possible by purchasing the amazing baked goods our team’s made. Food Network...watch out :) BLOWIN’ IN THE WIND Join us on Fri, June 4 (6PM-8PM) at our Chicago location for a “Do Your Own Blow-Dry” Workshop. The class will teach you the inside tips/tricks to making your own blow-dry perfect every time. The $25 reservation fee is redeemable for products purchased that night. Call our Chicago location (312-644-7337) to reserve... slots are booking quickly. WE LOVE CONTROL FREAKS AVEDA’s new hairspray, Control Force (http://www.aveda.com/), is launching in mid-June. This fast drying, firm hold aerosol hairspray contains rice bran (natural UV protectant) and gives great flexibility without flaking. Ask your stylist about it today. OIL SPILLS SUCK RED 7 SALON has developed a long-term partnership with Matter of Trust (http://matteroftrust.org/), a company that manufacturers hairmats (out of YOUR hair) to be used in oil spill situations. The hairmats cling to the oil and are then detoxified by thermophilic compost, green waste, and elbow grease before thousands of worms reduce the mass into fertilizer. Genius! RED 7 SALON has been actively collecting hair (at both locations) since Spring. Help our hair drive by coming in and getting a haircut. COFFEE MUGS ARE SO 2009 Celebrate Father’s Day (Sun, June 20) right this year by giving your Dad a great gift that he will be able to use... a RED 7 SALON gift card (available in any denomination online or in person). WE TAKE YOU SERIOUSLY This June, our entire Front Desk Lead (newly named Salon Directors) and Management team will be going through an intensive day-long training, focusing on leadership development and customer service. Goal? To bring YOU amazing service every single time you visit us! SUMMER COLOR TIP/TREND - by ADRIAN (Evanston Colorist) Whether your sun-kissed strands are natural, or have a little help from your RED 7 SALON Colorist, they can be dry and/or damaged during the summer months. Use Bumble and bumble’s Mending Complex as a leave-in treatment to repair your stressed hair. The B vitamins in the Mending Complex will help to revitalize and rebuild, keeping your summer hair happy :) TIME FOR SOME GOOD-BYES We have discontinued our retail offerings of bodycare, skincare, and make-up. Why? We LOVE hair and want it to be our #1 focus. We will still be offering individualized make-up services/lessons, utilizing the new MAC (http://www.maccosmetics.com/) line. We have been looking to incorporate a third haircare line. If you have something that you are crazy about, please let us know! PUSHING POPSICLES Celebrate the 1st week of summer (June 20-26), with complimentary popsicles! Enjoy them while you receive your service that week. Isn’t the summer grand? CHANGE IS HEALTHY You will begin to notice some pretty major changes with RED 7 SALON this summer/fall. We are updating our service menu design, launching a brand new website (featuring videos, blogs, new photo shoot pics, and team bios), and doing some construction at our Chicago location (moving our front desk, adding new styling stations, and improving our retail center). We are excited... please excuse the dust. HAIRY PUPILS Did you know that RED 7 SALON is incredibly active within the salon industry community? We regularly present technical skill workshops to the leading cosmetology schools within Chicagoland (Aveda Institute, Paul Mitchell University, Pivot Point, and Mario Tricoci University). Why? To enrich the learning environment and share RED 7 SALON culture with these newbies. We’ve also just launched our Advanced Academy to share our knowledge with other on-the-floor salon professionals. The focus of this advanced class will be on cutting, styling, and chemical treatments. Goal? Ensuring our level of quality surrounding these services is above-and-beyond.
